Dominique | Model Portfolio Shoot MakeUp and Hair
Hair and Airbrush MakeUp by Mariaan Tolken (Enslin) from ProMakeupMe
Photographer: Igor Polzenhagen
Location: Sea Point Studio and on the street in Sea Point
This was one of Dominique’s first ever (if not THE first) model portfolio shoots, as a newbie to the modeling world. Because we wanted her to be comfortable by easing her in, I started of with a very casual look. This was shot outside on the street with her hair loose and slightly messy and minimal MakeUp. Emphasising her youth and innocence 🙂
For her second look we moved back into the studio and I just did a casual up-do, twisting her hair into a bun, with the ends loosely out on the one side. I also just added a tiny bit to her MakeUp, to go with her jeans catsuit and the very clean / fresh white backdrop.
By the third look Dominique was a lot more comfortable in front of the camera, so we decided to do something more dramatic, which also gave her an ‘older’ more sophisticated look to add to her portfolio. Here I did her MakeUp a lot darker, with a grey/silver Smokey eye, which was in fashion around that time. (I don’t really like to do grey’s and silvers so much any more, as I feel they can either be very dull or very hard against most skin tones)
I also did a more corporate up-do hairstyle, twisting her hair into a bun on top of her head with bits coming out, to go with the corporate look that the stylist gave her for these shots.
