Verne | Engagement Shoot MakeUp & Hair Styling
Verne contacted me originally to enquire about my Wedding rates for hair & MakeUp (which she has now booked me for as well). And when it was time for their Engagement Shoot, she again contacted me to do her Hair & MakeUp for her.
This is often a good way for you and your MakeUp Artist to get to know each other a little better before your wedding. It also helps your MakeUp Artist to get a better feeling for what you like and don’t like. As well as what suits you best. And that whay when it comes to the day that you do your trial MakeUp for your wedding day (usually 1-3 weeks before your wedding date), you already have a bit of an advantage in that way 😉
Verne’s MakeUp
For her MakeUp she wanted a smokey eye look, but nothing too dark. So I did a chocolate brown smokey eye with a bit of dusty rose and a champagne highlight – all from my Revolution Re-Loaded Palette – Iconic Vitality.
I also added a couple of cluster lashes on the outer corners of her eyes, after applying Mascara.
She was a little conflicted about maybe doing a ‘darker colour’ lips, or going for a nude. So I suggested something in the middle, to add a bit of colour, but nothing too bright or dark. And again my NYX soft matte lip cream – SMLC32 Rome was the winner for this look.
Verne’s Hair
Verne had a shoulder length bob, which she told me does not take or hold a curl well. I nonetheless used my usual products and followed my usual steps to curl her hair and it looked beautiful.
I also asked her to let me know how the curl lasted (out of curiosity) and in her own words “…my krulle het nog tot 11h gisteraand gehou en vanoggend was daar selfs nog n paar krulle wat gehou het!!”. And for our English speaking readers ‘…my curls lasted till 11pm last night, and there were even some still left this morning!!’ So that just renewed my confidence in my products and methods 😉
