The Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Lotion is my favourite product of this range.
I am (naughtily) very lazy when it comes to applying my body lotion everyday… but this little beauty has given me a little extra motivation to make that effort, so that I can be enveloped in its Warm Vanilla scent at night when I go to bed, and still be bathed in it in the morning when I wake up.
The texture of this lotion is more like a cream really than a lotion, and at the same time it absorbs quickly and completely like a lotion, leaving your skin feeling nourished, but with no oily film left behind.
The rich blend of nourishing cream and Shea Butter, is what provides this lotion with its nourishing goodness, and in turn gives your skin the pampering that it deserves.
Shea Butter is a natural plant-based oil, extracted from kernels found within the fruit of the Shea nut tree.
It has anti-aging benefits and properties similar to green tea, and has demonstrated both antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Shea butter contains five essential fatty acids, phytosterols, vitamins E and D, allantoin (good for healing skin irritations), and vitamin A. This combination of ingredients helps neutralize free radical damage, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and fading age spots, as well as stimulating collagen production.
The container with the flip up top is durable, easy to open with one hand, and comes in 2 sizes : 250ml as well as 400ml
The Dove Purely Pampering Shea butter range can be found at department stores and pharmacies like Clicks or Dischem and the 250ml Nourishing Lotion retails for around R36-99, or the 400ml Nourishing Lotion for around R44-99.
Final Thoughts: Using a combination of the purely pampering body wash & body lotion is definitely my current favourite beauty routine. I know I keep going on about the fragrance, but I just really enjoy the way it smells and how it lingers on my skin, while the products do their moisturing duty as an added benefit 😉
I love the Dove moisturisers, they are so rich! I’m a huge fan of the Dove Summer Body gradual tanner, I use it about 3 times a week. Great review!

Thanks Abi! I haven’t used the Dove Summer Body gradual tanner yet. Not sure if we get it here in South Africa.. But I will definitely be keeping an eye out for it so that I can give it a try 😉
I totally hear you on being lazy with body lotion; I’m exactly the same 😉
I know right?!… lol But I’ve now got such a large collection of body lotions, I guess I’m going to have to start making a bit more of an effort… 😉
