The beautiful land of Brazil plays host to the most celebrated event on the planet, the Rio Carnival, a weeklong celebration leading right up to Ash Wednesday that marks the start of Lent in the Christian calendar.
It is known as the Greatest Show on Earth – the biggest party on the planet – and is televised throughout the globe. Thousands of visitors from all over the world flock to Rio to experience sensational samba parades with the mesmerizing beats of the samba drums, and most importantly, costumed samba dancers in attire ranging from the intricately designed to the outrageous.
This past weekend I went to our own celebration in honor of the carnival at Que Pasa Latin lounge, my salsa school and second home.
Apart from creating a fabulous outfit, I wanted to match my makeup for the party to the spirit of the carnival.
